Ways to reduce high bounce rate for blog or website

A site with high bounce rate means that most of your visitors come and leave immediately. That is not a good sign for a blog or website. Usually we want viewers to stay as long as possible and take time to go through all the stuff within the blog or website. Especially if you are trying to make money online, success rate is higher when you are able to keep most of your viewers wondering around your site for a long period of time. If you do a search online for ways to reduce high bounce rate, you will find lots of similar ways suggested by many blogs. Although most of the suggested methods are almost the same, there is couple of ways that work best.

The first thing that you need to do is make your blog or website as attractive as possible. If you are not planning to spend money for an attractive unique theme, at least choose a free theme or landing page that looks nice and comfortable. Remember that your goal is to make viewers feel safe, relax, easy, and comfortable. Any difficulties or annoying issues such as long loading time, confusing display, small fonts, too many advertisement, noisy audio and constant popups will force viewers to abandon your site and move on to other site. Whatever you do, just don’t put anything on your site that makes viewers feel annoyed, frustrated or even angry.

The second thing is the content presented on your blog or website. Obviously every blogger and site owner is striving for best quality content. So if that is the best content that you can come out with, there isn’t much you can do about it. Instead you can control the length of your blog post. It takes time to read a long blog post. So it is better to write long blog post so that viewers can stay longer in order to go through the blog post. Of cause you have to make sure that the long blog post is well written with good quality content and not just using words to spin the topic again and again. If you like to keep your blogging method of writing short blog post, break the long blog post into several parts and post it separately. Connect your short blog posts by mentioning part 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 at the end of post title. This will serve the same result as writing long blog post.
