The issues of other sites are using your Google AdSense code

It is a common thing for publishers to discover other sites are using their Google AdSense code. This happens when other sites duplicate your site content. The action of copy and paste tend to duplicate not just the content but also the code of the blog or site. Especially if you own a popular blog or site which has a high amount of traffic, you will discover that many people are duplicating your blog or site. So what do you do if you find out that other sites are using your Google AdSense code? Check out the blog post title “Other sites are using my ad code. What should I do?”

According to the blog post above, basically publisher needs to verify their sites and enable site authorization. When this is done, advertisers will not be charged. That means you won’t receive any earnings from sites that are not yours. It might seem not a good idea because you might be losing some money due to this action. The good thing about this is that it will protect publisher from any policy violations that occur in sites which are not yours but has your Google AdSense code in it.

This is what publisher can do if they find out other sites are using their Google AdSense code. I’m more concern about what Google AdSense will do. Either Google AdSense will punish publisher for the things they have no knowledge of or help publisher to help solve this problem? Some publishers might not realize that others are copying their site or blog or even using their Google AdSense code. Everyday thousand or more duplicated sites or blogs are created. Your site or blog will be targeted if your site or blog is popular and has a high amount of traffic. I don’t think you will be spending precious time everyday checking if other sites are using your Google AdSense code or not. It will be better off focusing on building our blog or site rather than worrying about other sites duplicating our content.
