Placing Google Adsense 300×250 medium rectangle or 336×280 large rectangle?
There is a question at Inside Adsense that goes like this “Should we be using Google Adsense 300×250 medium rectangle or the bigger 336×280 large rectangle?” Generally we should choose the ad format according to the strength of generating revenue. It is said that we should compare the two ad format by testing the performance in our blogs. In my opinion we should choose the ad format base on suitability instead of performance.
Honestly I don’t think there is a way to know for sure which ad format performs better. There are just too many variables. It will be best to decide the ad format base on the appearance of the page. The ads format 300×250 medium rectangle is very much suitable for blogs or sites that are designed for optimum space. Sometimes the 336×280 large rectangle ads format just takes up too much space. This ads format might just cause your blog or site to look empty.
As Google Ads format 336×280 large rectangle is slightly bigger than 300×250 medium rectangle, why don’t Google just includes 300×250 medium rectangle ads into 336×280 large rectangle ads? That means if we use 336×280 large rectangle ads format, it basically covers ads from both sizes. This will eventually solve the question of which ads format is better.
