Do we need a break from blogging?

I think it’s not just blogging. We always need a break or a rest from anything that we do. Generally we take a break because we are tired and need some time to rest our mind and body. It may seem simple and normal to take a break but if you don’t do it properly, it won’t serve the purpose. That means you need to get away from what makes you tired and never think about it so that you can truly have a good rest.

We take a break so that we are able to continue work better and longer. That goes the same with blogging. We need to refresh our mind and reboot our PC so that we can write better articles. Plus, taking a break is good as it will trigger your inspiration. Holiday seasons like Christmas or Easter normally will be slow in traffic as many people will be spending their time with families instead of staring at the monitor. It will be a perfect time to take a break together with most of your readers. Just write a post saying that you are taking a break or use the post timestamps feature to release the post when you are not around.

In order to go far and better in blogging, planning a break from blogging is necessary. If you plan to make blogging a full time job then it is a must as the time you spend in front of the monitor is longer than any other job in the world. For me, I like to take a drive to the nearest state and have a nice cup of coffee.

yepp. Balance is the key to everything in life.

  2. I usually take a break from blogging on the weekends just to do some other related work. I don’t know. It seems that I get more visitors per work put in on the weekdays and then the weekends sort of slow down no matter what I do.

Yeah a break is necessary.. I usually do it on weekend.

However, it’s hard to take a break from Entrecard 🙁

I recently had 5 days away from my blog and it was great. 🙂 I came back to it feeling refreshed and I had lots of new ideas for it too. You need a break from things in life from time to time.

This article is right on target. This is one of the reasons I left the corporate world. When I told them I was getting burnt out and needed a break they didn’t want to give it to me. They had a short term perspective.

If you are in anything for the long haul, you’ll need a break from it at one time or another. For holiday I like to go to places with third world conditions. That way I’m usually assured that I won’t be bothered much by advertising, technology or modernity. I just hang out with like-minded travelers and locals and have authentic conversations. It refreshes me like nothing else I’ve tried. Our next trip is coming up on April 25th. I can’t wait!

It’s true that you do need a break. It is great to be able to drop everything and leave it for a few days and not have to worry.

But do use the timestamp feature, as updating your blog is important, as this does effect traffic and people may think that you have given up. More so if you go from blogging everday then no posts for a few days. People will be gin to wonder!!

Sorry that I did not reply in such a long time. I have some problem logging into my admin. It took about 10 days to settle things but that gives me a chance to have a break for good.

You are right, we must take break as often as we could. Doing anything nonstop is not a good thing, I’m taking break 2 days and enjoy my whole weekend 🙂

    Have a nice weekend Kumo

    Thanks. Have a nice rest.

Using timestamp feature will really help in updating ones blog most especially if you are too busy to update it regularly. You just have leave everything and you do not have to worry at all.

    That’s a good idea.
