Recently Google launches their new Certified Publishing Partner program. Nowadays the word certified seems to be introduced once things get crowded or complicated. In other words it is a way of saying “this is genuine and recognized by us.” According to Google, it means partners that have been carefully vetted and meets Google’s rigorous qualification standards. According to Google, these partners are trained experts that can help us make more money while saving our time. I suppose we have to test it out in order to understand better. Is this really good for bloggers and publishers? Well, one thing for sure. We can’t let Google control everything. When Google becomes the only option available, you are either against Google or with Google. Especially when you are pursuing for money making opportunities online, depending on Google for earnings can be very dangerous. One day you might earn thousands and next day you might get zero. I’m sure a lot of people have the same experience when Google changes their game play suddenly. This goes the same as Certified Publishing Partner.
Does it matter as long as these Partners help us make more money? Well, I suppose it depends on if you are hoping for long term cooperation or just a one-time deal. It also depends on the amount of money that you are willing to invest. Obviously the price will be different between certified or not. If you are just getting started, it might be a bit early to request for their services.
