Test Your Wordpress Theme before using it

I posted about what you need to do when changing your Wordpress Theme early this year. I manage to think of 5 items that we need to take care of but that was not enough. Lately I came across a post on how to successfully switch your Wordpress Theme without throwing your computer through the window. I?m very impress with the method of setting up a test blog. I wanted to try it out but afraid I might mess up my original blog. Guess I need to understand the process better before taking any action. I like to share it with you as I think it?s another good method to make sure nothing goes wrong when changing Wordpress Theme.

I think that method is a waste of time when you can just install the theme test drive wordpress plugin to test your theme as administrator. You can test all you want and nobody but you will see the new theme you are testing.

Thanks for the info JTPRATT. That really make things lot more easier.

Yep I was going to say the same thing. Try out the theme-test-drive plugin

Theme Test Drive is installed on all of my blogs. It’s been a lifesaver for me as I’m redesigning FiveBlondes. I highly recommend it as well.

Thanks, I’ll try it out.

Good site and nice articles Kumo.

Thank’s for the valued information.

Hope you’ll benefits from the info.

I used to use a theme switcher and create new themes that way. It always worked well since I don’t use widgets.

I’ll have to try theme test drive. I have WAMP installed on my machine and I had recently considered using a fresh install on my local machine to test new themes and plugins. Singe I use a host that allows easy external access to my MySQL database it would be pretty quick to setup and populate.

Thanks for sharing. This info is useful for those that using multiple theme on the blog.
